Lighthouse Ministries Board Member
Dianne was honored in June 2010 as the Rotary Four-Way Award Winner, an honor bestowed upon outstanding local business owners. The Four-Way test and award have been hallmarks of the Rotary since their development in 1932. It celebrates integrity and truth in business. Wilson Electric was founded in 1960 by Harold Wilson, Dianne’s father and a former board member at Lighthouse Ministries. Dianne took over as manager of the company in 1994 during a tumultuous time in the business.
According to Dianne, she knows she isn’t smart enough to run the company, but she hires people who are. And she trusts God. “I watch people who are so intelligent struggle. They think they’re smarter than God. Knowing you have to depend on God makes it so much easier. You always go back to the point that you can’t do it.”
For Dianne and the staff of Wilson Electric, the company and its clients are a mission field. They start the day with daily prayer time. They pray for each other by name, and they are committed to encouraging and lifting each other up. “The only reason we can see the answers to prayer is because we’re praying. It has to be daily, and it has to be corporate. ” Dianne’s history with Lighthouse Ministries is just as faithful. As the first female board member, Dianne served alongside her father for years. She is most impressed witnessing the changed lives of the residents. Watching the residents become Christians and be restored fulfills the goals set forth by the founders so many years ago.
