Bob had struggled with drugs most of his teenage and adult life. As a self-proclaimed “black sheep,” he suffered through addictions, a failed marriage, and the stripping of his parental privileges. In a bout of weariness, he attended church for a last time to “get himself right with God and end his life.” Thankfully, God didn’t let Bob follow through with those plans. As Bob came to the realization that he couldn’t kick this addiction on his own, he began seeking out programs that would help. It was through a chance encounter at a church in Seffner that led him to Lighthouse.

While accepting food from A Servant’s Heart, one of the Lighthouse Ministries Outreach sites, Bob met Sal and Cina Fiducia. Sal brought Bob to Lighthouse one week later. Since coming into the ministry, Bob has had a life-long dream fulfilled. After studying plants for years in the hopes of starting his own garden, Bob took over the maintenance of the hydroponic garden here.

With the support of his 17-year-old son, Michael, and the conviction of the Lord, Bob completed the residential program in early 2010. He continues to manage the hydroponic garden, and he has become an unofficial spokesman for the ministry that changed his life. At the 2010 “Giving Hope That Changes Lives” Annual Fundraiser, Bob presented his testimony onstage to the attendees of the banquet. He was also featured in the official Lighthouse Ministries video, and he loves leading tours through the garden.

Bob has no intentions of leaving the garden and the ministry that he loves. He knows the Lord orchestrated every step on his path to Lighthouse, and he loves sharing the joy that he has found through the Lord and through Lighthouse Ministries.
