Rescue Mission

The Lighthouse Ministries Men's Rescue Mission is equipped to serve the homeless and at-risk in Lakeland. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. daily to serve those who need a meal, a hot shower, and a warm bed. During their stay, there is an afternoon chapel service where local pastors share the gospel message. All are served a hearty snack, a hot dinner and breakfast, and a new change of clothes during their stay.

There is no charge for your first three visits at our Rescue Mission. The fee is $10/nightly after that, however dinner and chapel services are served at no charge. Women and children are welcome to attend our chapel service and dinner, but only men may stay overnight.

The mission is open 365 days a year, and it has never turned away someone in need for lack of space.

STEVE BELLAMY

Steve met his first homeless child while serving in Vietnam. It was then that his heart was softened to the homeless, hurting, and poor. After serving in advisory capacity to Lighthouse Ministries, he was asked to join the board. While initially hesitant, he agreed to serve for a year on a trial basis. That was five years ago, and Steve has yet to tire of the ministry.

Steve spends plenty of time on the Lighthouse campus as a mentor and coach to the staff and residents of the program. In fact, Steve was instrumental in inception of our hydroponic garden two years ago after seeing a similar garden in the local newspaper. His influence and range at Lighthouse are undeniable.
