It is our pleasure to serve the community by providing needed products and clothing at reasonable prices. The interaction between customers and workers provides a great atmosphere and it’s never a surprise to find a staff person or intern sharing God’s love with a customer. It’s not just the workers, customers tell us they are praying for us.
The Brandon Store has also recently hired several people from the local community, providing jobs in a difficult economic time. Customers come back day after day as they receive value for their dollar and see that they are being treated fairly.
One element of our residents’ program is industry. Working in the stores as an intern provides opportunities for the resident to be in the workplace again, but in a controlled setting where they can learn respect, integrity and harmony on the job. Interns take financial responsibility again by budgeting their income, paying their obligations (such as child support or restitution), and saving for the future.
