Kidcare Program
Children entering into the Troxel Family Life Center are enrolled in the Lighthouse KIDCARE program.
Lighthouse KIDCARE provides:
Assessment / Counseling: Children are signed up to speak with our on site licensed counselor upon the request and approval of the parent. Our counselor then conducts an assessment of the child’s needs and determines what areas require immediate care.
Pediatric Care: A volunteer pediatrician is on call to provide onsite non-emergency medical care to children.
Case Management: Case managers are available to work with moms and children in obtaining records and information needed to enroll the child in preschool or local elementary, junior high, or senior high school.
Academics: A portion of Lighthouse KIDCARE operates through the onsite Lighthouse Community Preschool and the AFTERCARE program. Volunteer tutors are on hand to help students with homework and to work with children in subjects such as reading, math, and phonics.
Activities: Family activities as well as group and church activities are an encouragement for children and moms to spend time with one another and to connect with other families. Activities include trips to local museums, theme parks, and other family oriented events.
