Giving Hope to the Community
Lighthouse Ministries is a life and learning campus set apart to serve the poor, at-risk, and homeless. We offer many services to the community:
Our campus offers an overnight emergency shelter for men – The Men’s Gospel Rescue Mission. This shelter provides meals, clothing, showers, and rest for the homeless men of Lakeland. Men are provided three (3) free nights of shelter a month.
Chapel services and dinner are also available free of charge to men, women, and children of all ages in this shelter. The Gospel Rescue Mission is located at 117 E. Magnolia St., and its doors open at 3:30 p.m.
ONE-STOP RESIDENTIAL SHELTER AND CARE
The Lighthouse Ministries campus also offers a residential program with one-stop care for men and for women and children. Residency is required for one year (minimum) in this program. There is absolutely no cost for the program, but a full commitment is required. Childcare assistance is also available through this program. Applications may be filled out online or downloaded and dropped by one of our facilities.
Food boxes are available through our HOPE Centers or our “See the Need, Help Us Feed” Outreach sites. Clothing, household items, and additional assistance is also available through our HOPE Centers for those in need.
Anyone interested in receiving assistance must apply at one of our locations, and all applicants must be able to account for their expenses, income, and each of the members of their household.
For additional information on the programs or to find participating locations, please contact us at (863)687-4076.
The Lighthouse Ministries Community Preschool was established in 2003 not only for the children of our residents, but also for families in the community. If you are interested in enrolling your child in our accredited Lighthouse Ministries Community Preschool, contact our Preschool Director at (863)687-4076 x220 or send an email.
“SEE THE NEED, HELP US FEED” HOLIDAY FOOD & TOY DISTRIBUTION
We recognize the stress and need the holidays bring. During Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, free food boxes are available to families who cannot supply a holiday meal. Families may also apply for our annual toy distribution, which strives to supply families with the requested toys for Christmas.
“Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.” -Ezra 10:4
